WHY REGISTER IN A PARISH?

A Catholic parish is the single most important part of our Catholic Church. Our church is where we continue the mission of Jesus Christ. Here we publicly express our faith and give witness of our communion with God and with one another.

There are several reasons to register:

· A sense of belonging and identity in a parish community.

· Provides the parish community with a way to welcome you.

· In times of joy and in times of struggle, you have the support of a faith family.

· It is a commitment to practice your faith.

· Gives a chance for you and your family to be counted and heard in the parish.

· Registering includes you in the planning for the needs of the parish.

· Gives the parish a way to connect with you, especially when family has the dying person.

· Guidance to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, or Holy Matrimony, and Reconciliation

· Will facilitate the registration process at PSJ STEM Academy if you have children who plan to attend.

Panthers in Action

Third grade is learning about simple machines. Students are exploring how to build pulleys, inclined planes and levers! Later in the unit, they will learn how to build compound machines and use them to solve a real world problem. Students are also learning how people in our community use simple machines.

STEM specialist has been a lot of fun for our PSJ Panthers. They have been learning about seeds, what plants need to grow, and upper grades are working in small groups to construct hydroponic towers.

SPECIAL WELCOME!!

Sister Y (pronounced “ee”) is our new Vietnamese teacher at PSJ STEM! Every Friday our students learn about the Vietnamese language and culture. We are blessed to have Sister Y in our school.

Middle school students are researching Catholic philosophers or Catholics pioneers in STEM. They will choose a person to do a research presentation on to share to the class and at our STEM Showcase on October 1st.

PK learned about color theory during art. The students dipped their hands in a primary colors, stamped them, and then shook hands with a friend with a different color paint to see how many different colors they could make. They also learned how we can all make prettier and cooler colors when we work together.

Our panthers have music class each week with Ms. Bredberg. She works with classes on songs to prepare for next weeks’ Mass. Thank you, Ms. Bredberg!
