A big thank you to all of the volunteers who make this event possible. We appreciate your hard work and donations that make the annual bazaar a success !

WHY REGISTER IN A PARISH?

A Catholic parish is the single most important part of our Catholic Church. Our church is where we continue the mission of Jesus Christ. Here we publicly express our faith and give witness of our communion with God and with one another.

There are several reasons to register:

· A sense of belonging and identity in a parish community.

· Provides the parish community with a way to welcome you.

· In times of joy and in times of struggle, you have the support of a faith family.

· It is a commitment to practice your faith.

· Gives a chance for you and your family to be counted and heard in the parish.

· Registering includes you in the planning for the needs of the parish.

· Gives the parish a way to connect with you, especially when family has the dying person.

· Guidance to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, or Holy Matrimony, and Reconciliation

· Will facilitate the registration process at PSJ STEM Academy if you have children who plan to attend.

TURKEY FEATHER FOOD DRIVE

Help this turkey get his feathers! PSJSTEM's annual Turkey Feather Food Drive will be from Monday, November 4 to Friday, November 22. Students can bring in food items for the Parish food bank and exchange them for feathers to place on their classroom turkey. The class with the most feathers at the end of the food drive will crown their teacher with the coveted turkey hat and enjoy a special party! Be on the lookout for the weekly five feather items which our food bank is especially in need of this holiday season.

The following items are the five feather items for the first week of the food drive, beginning Monday, Nov. 4:

boxed cake mix
cake frosting
small marshmallows
jello

Food items can be turned in for feathers in the mornings from 8:00 am - 8:15 am. PTO would love to have volunteers to help collect food and give out feathers at this time. Please email Anne at pto@psjstem.org if you can help.

All Saints Day Mass – November 1^st

Our usual Thursday morning Mass on October 31^st is moved to Friday November 1^st for the celebration of All Saints Day. We encourage the students to dress up as saints on that day as we remember that each of us is a saint in the making.

Community Outreach

September Report - We Sent out:

526 lunches for 264 people,

91 bag of groceries,

125 bags of frozen/produce,

8015 pounds of food.

91 clothing bags worth $734.00

Food bank for 210 people belonging to 70 families;

20 gas cards ($500.00), 15 bus tickets ($75.00);

600 people received help through 21 volunteers who served at the site.

Next meeting: Oct. 23rd at 11:30 am at Visitation.

Calling All Bakers

We are in need of baked goods and canned items for the Pope Saint John XXIII Fall Harvest Bazaar Bake Booth!

If you're interested in meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, or even co-chairing to help make the event a success, we invite you to participate. Come by and share your delicious goods!
