Mass/Events

Thanksgiving Blessing
On Thanksgiving Day, a table will be set up and you are invited to bring something that you will be eating at your Thanksgiving meal to be blessed. After Mass be sure to take the food you brought back home.
Thank you
Thank you to all those who have already returned your Parish Stewardship commitment card. When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and especially treasure. However, we must remember that we are not ‘owners’ of anything, we are merely ‘stewards’ of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion, in gratitude of what He has already given to us. I ask everyone else to prayerfully evaluate your giving to the parish and community and return your commitment card as soon as possible.

PSJ STEM Volunteer Opportunities:
Turkey Feather Dealer - Have fun exchanging food for feathers in the mornings from 7:55 am to 8:20 am during the weeks of Nov. 4 - Nov. 22 for the Turkey Feather Food Drive. Please email Anne at pto@psjstem.org if you can help.
Playground Cleaner (ongoing) - The school is in need of a volunteer to blow and pressure wash the playground multiple times per month. Please contact Marc Nuno at nunom@psjstem.org to grab this opportunity!
Secret Pal Program (ongoing) - We are looking for parents and guardians to take part in our "Secret Pal" program. As a secret pal, you would give gifts and tokens of appreciation to a PSJSTEM staff member throughout the school year and receive a maximum of 15 volunteer hours. Please click here to sign up, or contact Anne at pto@psjstem.org for more information.
Storage Container Cleaner/Organizer - 4 volunteer hours minimum will be awarded, the days are flexible. Please contact Marc Nuno at nunom@psjstem for more information about the work.
Revamp the Storage Closet - The school is looking for a volunteer that is willing to take on this fierce project. This job would entail demoing wood shelving, covering some old flooring, and cleaning. The person who volunteers to finish the whole project will be awarded a minimum of six volunteer hours.
Sound System Project - Would you like to help Visitation Church resolve the sound system problem? We are in need of someone to help determine an affordable alternative and we need help to set it up. All volunteer hours spent on this project will go toward your school volunteer hour obligation.
Please remember that every parent volunteer at the school is required to have a current background check and training class on file in their account at virtusonline.org. If you are unsure of your account status or have any questions, please contact Kelli Bostwick at bostwickk@psjstem.org.
Parish Family- Facilities Team
We need parishioners to join our facility team. Volunteering as part of the facility team is a beautiful way to serve God and your parish community. By helping care for the church, you contribute to maintaining a sacred space where we gather to worship, pray, and seek comfort. Your efforts, no matter how small, help create a welcoming and peaceful environment for others to encounter God. It's a humble and rewarding form of stewardship that allows you to give back to the church that nourishes your faith, while also strengthening bonds with fellow parishioners as you work together for a common purpose.

The month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
“All who die in God’s grace and friendship but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death, they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.” (CCC 1030)
Reflecting on the end time events, let us continue to pray during the month of November for all our departed brothers and sisters that also will be purified from their inequities and will shine in the presence of the Father. In a special way we thank and pray for the Lazurus committee that is serving at different sites of our parish, who served in organizing and helping the families at the funeral of their loved ones. May God bless them for their commitment and service.
