- Sacraments:
- First Communion-St. Ann has 31 students, Vietnamese class has 18 students, SJOW has 27 students and Visitation has 17 students.
- Confirmation, a total of 76 candidates will be confirmed at Mass on June 2.
- Marriage Prep had 17 attendees.
Outreach Programs
- St. Ann and St. John of the Woods have a total of 62 at nursing homes/homebound. Seven volunteers bring the Eucharist and visit weekly with these parishioners.
- Weekly Communion Services have resumed at King’s Manor, Tacoma Nursing & Rehab Center, and Heartwood Nursing homes. Additionally at Gibson Garden, every Monday those folks receive the Eucharist and pray the rosary. Eight people were able to receive Anointing of the Sick in the hospital, nursing homes, homebound and at hospice.
Samoan Community
The choir has resumed Saturday practices and their community will be responsible for church flowers during May, June, and July.
NEW BUSINESS
- St. Vincent de Paul is no longer operating at St. Ann's campus. The Outreach Committee is reviewing options of how to continue the Ministries of the Poor (MOTP) program being offered at Visitation. MOTP has been approved to continue in its current location until the transfer of the Visitation STEM school.
- Discussed needing a plan for the new school project. The plan must include needs of the school and faith formation. Current plan: school uses the facilities during the day and faith formation and other groups use the building at night and on weekends. The tentative plan is for 16 classrooms, gym, kitchen and two offices – one for the school’s use and one for faith formation.
