OCIA Class at every Monday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the PSJXXIII religious school

OCIA/OCIC is the process by which people become members of the Roman Catholic Church.
 Rite of Acceptance:
The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens marks the end of the Pre-Catechumenate and the beginning of the second phase - the Catechumenate.

Saturday, April 5th: Third Scrutiny at PSJ23 at 4:30 pm Mass
Saturday, April 12th: RETREAT at SJOW from 9am to 12 noon. Sponsors need to be there.
Saturday, April 19th, Rehearsal from 9am to 10:30am. Sponsors need to be there.
Easter Vigil, Baptism at 8:00 PM Mass.


Adult Catechism Class

Every Wednesday at 6:30 to 7:30 at the PSJXXIII Parish Center

We use the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church as our study, prayer, and meditation guide.

Dear Friends
For the remaining Saturdays of Lent, we will pray the Stations of the Cross in place of the regular prayer service.  We hope to see you Saturday. Invite others from other parishes to join us.

We invite you to contribute to the parish Ministry of the Poor this month. There is a box in the hall to put items if you come for Saturday prayer. This month they are requesting:

    Canned Soups         Canned Broth        Canned Meat/Fish   

    Fem Hygiene Products   Monetary Donations   Handwarmer Packets

    Gloves, men's L/XL      Men's Shoes        Men's Clothing, size Small

    Winter Hats/Earmuffs    Blankets            Sleeping Bags

  No Fresh Food, No Frozen Food, No Large Cans or Cartons.

 

 Note these important upcoming dates at St. Rita:
  • We will pray Stations of the Cross  Good Friday, April 18. Fr. Hendry will lead us in prayer.  We need a Cross bearer and two candle bearers,
  • Our Church Consecration Day on Saturday, April 26, will include an 11 a.m. Mass and then fellowship with coffee and treats in the church hall afterwards.  Cookies or pastry donations will be very much appreciated. Raffle tickets will be sold after Mass.
  • St. Rita's Feast Day is on Saturday, May 24. It also includes Mass at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch in the church hall.  A freewill donation of a minimum of $10 donation per person for the lunch is suggested. We ask that you RSVP to me by May 10th so that we can plan the food for the lunch. 


  • There will be a raffle at the end of the luncheon on May 24th. Tickets will be sold after both Masses. See photos below of the St. Rita package of items for some lucky winner. Tickets are $5 donation each. No need to be present to win.
*****If would like to participate as a minister at Good Friday Stations of the Cross and either or both Masses, please let me know in what ministry and I will have one of our organizers contact you. 


Add Sunday, July 27 to your calendar for the Centennial Celebration of St. Ann Parish at the 9:45 a.m. Mass at Pope St. John XXIII church. Details coming soon.
 
Donations for the upkeep of St. Rita Church are always welcome. They can be brought on Saturdays or mailed directly to Pope St. John XXIII, clearly marked for St.Rita. Also, there is the link to online donations that go directly to into St. Rita Church fund https://ppay.co/x5kCu6hL3yE

Saturday Morning Mass is now celebrated exclusively at Visitation Church in Tacoma. All parishioners are invited to join us at 9:00 AM.

And, at Saint Rita Church, a special Saturday Prayer group takes place at 10:00 AM.

Welcome to Vis Lenten Small Group

Our Lenten reflection group that meets each Sunday at Visitation will be sharing an idea that came to them during one of their sessions. They are going to invite people to write down on an index card a moment when God had touched them in profound way or share a time when they felt especially close to God.

During the Easter season, we'd like to share some of these reflections in the bulletin. Thank you for all volunteers to support this activity.
