Our Theme for October is Fall and Fire Safety. We are exploring how leaves change and how the weather gets colder in the fall. We notice how the weather changes as we change the clothes we wear-we go from wearing shorts to pants. Use these opportunities at home to extend your child’s learning with simple everyday experiences.

- God gave us a set of talents and gifts that are uniquely our own. He intends us to use them to bring others to love and knowledge of Him. The main article on page one gives readers tips for discerning their own gifts and figuring out how to use them in His service.
- At a time when it is challenging to be religious, Catholics will want to be able to articulate – for themselves and others – reasons why they are Catholic. While the answers will vary from person to person, our main article on page two offers several suggestions to start discernment.
- From Scripture uses the last Sunday Gospel reading of the month (Luke 19:1-10) to encourage us to look at the world through the eyes of God. When invited into friendship with Jesus, Zacchaeus – an unpopular and sinful tax collector – completely changed his life. Adopt Jesus’ habit of forgiveness.
